New Year, New You?
Recently a customers asked me if I am still in business since my last blog entry was from 2020 (!), so here are some thoughts for the start of this year.
Maybe you too have felt that 2023 couldn’t come fast enough. So many people I have met last year seemed to have felt the aftermath of those Covid-years in their bodies and their minds. Quite a few have told me that they feel completely in their heads and feel disconnected from their bodies.
A new year can be the chance to push the re-set button. How to do this without having to accomplish another to-do-list of self improvement measures and end up feeling even more overwhelmed than before?
One step at a time. My priority is undisturbed SLEEP. No devices in the bed room, having very dark curtains, maybe taking a bath before bed. I highly recommend Matthew Walker:s book The Science of Sleep. So much insight and learning. As you will improve your sleep, your overall well-being will benefit in every other aspect. Natural supplements I can recommend are: Magnesium, Ashwagandha, Reishi, Sleep Ease from Herbs of Gold and Deep Sleep Mode from Happy Mammoth.
Saying more NO. Saying NO to our ever increasing happily dancing social media world? Yes. Being content to not post anything, to not expect any likes, to switch off notifications and stay away completely for most of the day. Real live, real books and real people feel so much better. Also, saying NO to time wasters. I learned this concept through yoga philosophy ( Asteya-non-stealing)-a good way to re-assess values and daily practices.
Making time for SELF-CARE. Of course, I say, book a massage. A massage will really take you out of the monkey-mind and make you feel into your body. My body needs a Remedial Massage at least once a month and a Kahuna-Massage every second month. Sometimes, trying different modalities, like recently an amazing Zenthai-Shiatsu massge with Natan Bodyflow. If you cannot come for a massage yet, a walk in a park or on the beach or just in a pretty street can do wonders for getting back to balance.
Stay well and stay sane!
And, I might see you soon on my massage table for a remedial massage, a healing Lomi-Lomi massage or a divine Kahuna-massage.
Much love,
Ulrika
